Premier League Transfer Rumours: 19th June 2011

We are into day of luka modric- chelsea love affair and unsurprisingly, Modric's bosses at Totthenham dont seem to be very jaunty. On a related note, The Metro claims that Chelsea are prepared to oofer Michael Essien to sweeten the deal. The Ghanaian has strunggled for form in recent times and could act as a makeweight in the deal for Modric. Liverpool hold 'boyhood dream' advantage in £10m Arsenal battle - reports The former England U21 international has been linked with a move away from the Blues' after their relegation from the Barclays Premier League last term, with Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish thought to be at the front of the queue to sign the player. However, The Daily Telegraph claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has now joined the race for the £10 million-rated player, with the Frenchman eyeing the former Coventry City centre back as a defensive reinforcement this summer. Chris Samba, Gary Cahill and Mamadou Sakho have also been linked with an Emirates switch in recent weeks, but now the Arsenal sights appear to have set on Dann. One down, four to go: Liverpool's next £50million targets revealed

Kenny Dalglish will continue to splash the cash after his first success and failure in the transfer market. Cheered by his capture of Jordan Henderson and disappointed to lose out on Phil Jones to Manchester United, he will target the next four names on his hitlist. Dalglish is keen on Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Scott Dann and Sylvain Marveaux and the quartet would take his summer spending to £50million. Dalglish has turned to Downing with No 1 target Ashley Young set to join United and the England winger would cost around £12million from Aston Villa after saying he would not rush into signing a new deal with the Midlanders. Progress on Downing could be slowed because of the managerial vacancy and Gerard Houllier's successor will no doubt make a plea for him to stay. Liverpool's interest in Adam has been on the back burner since Blackpool refused their £6.4million bid in January and they will not pay more than £8million for the Scotland midfielder. Aga
