2011/12 Premier League Squads Reveal
The Premier League have released the 25-man - or mostly fewer - squads for all 20 teams in England's top-flight. Each club must have a squad containing no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the home-grown player criteria, with the remainder - up to a total of 25 - having to be home-grown. A home-grown player means one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21). Players under the age of 21 (for the 2011/12 campaign those born on or after January 1, 1990) are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players , which explains why the likes of Mario Balotelli are not listed at Manchester City even though he is a part of the first-team.
